The groucho guinness season is starting back up once again, just as it does every year when the weather starts to warm. Unfortunately the Relay for Life that Jon Jack of Martinsburg WV had planned did not turn out quite as they expected; they were short by over 1,000 participants, and thus the reigning champions were not dethrowned, yet – it is still early in the year. (That is not to say that Martinsburg didn’t have their own princess that day).

What at first appeared to be a flop however, was quickly overshadowed by the amount of cancer awareness that the rally in Martinsburg has received. They received a ton of coverage on blogs, television, big newspapers, and small newspapers alike. Another attempt will be made again on June 3rd, where they will hopefully not only raise more money, but beat that elusive groucho record.
